The Federation 2017
Always come home from a national with more than I went with !!!
PCGB National at Telford International Centre November 2016
2016 has been a huge year for breeding for us, which should begin to show from next year depending on the breeds. A big year for our big Brahmas, some great young stock coming through and a few breeding birds sold for top money so all round very pleased.
Blue Laced Wyandotte Bantams - 2nd in Hen Class for second year, decent consistency with young stock coming through! Cock bird was unplaced but was very young.
Cemani - Not such a great year at national level, there is only one class and it was obviously apparent to exhibitors that the prizes always tend to go to the cock birds due to their charisma, unfortunately this meant hens did not get a look in and exhibitors bought more cock birds as a result. That didn't stop offers from top breeders for our hen.
Brahma Large Fowl - Isabella Hen got a 4th in non standard class, Gold Partridge Brahma Hen got a 4th too.
Bought more birds home than were shown!!!
Some lovely (Kerry Wilson) Blue laced bantam girls to strengthen the breeding pens.
A Quartet of Lavender Columbian as a new project, not to be mistaken for blue!!!
Can't wait for 2017 now!!!

So this years results...
Champions row with one of our lovely Gold Partridge Brahma Gals!!!
Finally, I have always known our girls if anything were even better than our big George and co. but it was lovely to get some recognition. Folks were so busy trying to get Big George disqualified for being placed in a larger sized pen, that they completely missed the better bird!!! ha ha brilliant! 3 years top spot in the Brahma class with a best in show and reserve best in show. This year our girl got best soft feather heavy with a silver award from the PCGB and award from the breed club etc. Very Pleased. Big George came a very close second!
Cemani did well again, with hen taking top honours. 1ST Place with our Orlando a close second!
Blue Laced Wyandotte Bantams- 1st Place with breed club award for hen. Cock bird unplaced due to age.
Isabella Brahma Cock bird got a 2nd in non standard class which was a large class, nice to see.
Another lovely day had by Peggy too! All birds taken won prizes except 1!

First Chicks Hatched in 2016!!!
I was greeted this morning by cheeping from a mixture of chicks that had hatched 2 days early! Very eager! I will add photos videos and more as and when I get a chance. The incubators are full and we have a 100% fertility rate on all pure breeds, they are developing well and we are getting loads of interest.
Thanks to those who have complimented the website and our birds.

PCGB National at Telford International Centre November 2015
Here are just a few photos of our birds competing at national level finally. I have had birds booked in for the last two years previously but work commitments hampered attendance. This year was horrendous in terms of getting birds prepared, with the mild weather the birds took too long to feather up. Never mind, was very pleased with the results anyway. Also got to meet a few of the big names in UK poultry who share my interests.
Ayam Cemani - 4th place for cock bird, in terrible condition missing feathers!
Ayam Cemani - Pullet unplaced, only cocks won prizes unfortunately!
Gold Partridge Brahma - Young Cock bird - Unplaced
Big George - 4th Place, stiff competition and I wasn't going to take him as he had not feathered up.
Hen - Unplaced this time!
Blue Laced Wyandotte Bantam - Hen -2nd in Hen class, bird that beat her went on to champions row!
Cock - Didn't take him
Pullet - Unplaced, well placed for next year though.

I am now a proud member of the Laced Wyandotte Club, I joined up at the National at Telford meeting some lovely folks, particularly Mr Trefor Griffith who was very helpful indeed and I will hopefully be able to learn a little from as his knowledge of the breeds and genetics are second to none!

Ayam Cemani:
Cock: First in Rare
I was told he would have gone much further if they were recognised as a standard breed, they have to be shown as non-standard and there is no non-standard category unfortunately. Looked tremendous and enjoyed the hottest day of the year!!!

The Royal Norfolk Show 2014
Please see our gallery of photos taken at the Royal Norfolk Show 2014. We were in attendance with a handful of birds. Showing is not an easy task at this time in the season as with so many fluffy hens we end up with lots of broodies which rules them out of being shown! Also due to the volume of feathering the birds begin to moult due to the summer heat.
We took the following birds to the show:
Gold Partridge Brahma Cock Bird (Gorgeous George)

Best of Breed (awarded by The Brahma Club of Great Britain)

The Royal Norfolk Show 2014 Photo Gallery
The show was packed with the best of agriculture from the region, from flowers to llama, sheep to stunt teams in the main ring. I tried to capture a good range of photos over the two days, for those of you who made it into the gallery congratulations! You or your creature were obviously beautifully turned out enough to grab attention!!! Enjoy the pictures.
